Perché la Vita Passa in Fretta
Because Life Passes Fast
During the pandemic, I started to use acrylic paint in my work. The change of material coincided with a shift in process. A new perspective and awareness of mortality informed my work.
This process is a complex series of layered lines, colors, and shapes. Multiple layers of stamping, contour lines drawing, and bold graphic shapes push and pull to inform me about the relationship to the imagery. Invented colors are created from the black and white reference. The layers and alternating applications represent multiple parts of the self.
In this technology-rich environment, I find solace in the introspection of interpersonal relationships. I hope to re-attune the shared connections between our familial roles and explore how these connections inform, affect, engage, and provide healing and growth
The work alludes to the viewer experiencing more than the image we see.
